Message from the President: Rob Fried

Welcome to the 2008-09 Orange Empire Chapter of ASHRAE website.  We hope that you will find this webpage informative, intuitive and useful.  We have a number of great upgrades planned this year that will improve communication between our Members and Leadership and between the Chapter and Society.  This is your webpage so any input you might have, feel free to contact our Webmaster Mike Lynaugh (m.lynaugh@air-ex.com) with your suggestions.

As this year’s President, it is my objective to encourage our Chapter leadership to set measurable goals and follow up with them on their progress.  Goals such as membership retention and promotion; research promotion and charity; and increased membership participation.

Also, to continue with what Darren started last year, to improve our Chapter methods of operations, including further development of our Website and other e-tools as a manner for our membership to communicate and be informed.

And finally, encourage and promote member mentoring and participation.  Mentoring starts by coming along side our younger colleages, whether at work or here in the Chapter, and involve them in what we are doing,  leading by example while keeping in mind that we are developing our future.

This year we have some challenges ahead of us.  Orange Empire is hosting both Chapter Joint meetings, and the Region X CRC scheduled for April 30 – May 2, 2009.  Ted Kohlenberger is Chairing the CRC Committee to organize this event.  This is an opportunity for Orange Empire to excel among our peer Chapters in the Region and for many of our members to get involved.  So, if Ted asks you to help, please accommodate him.  And bring that person you’re mentoring to serve with you.
